PLEASE READ, Myself and my husband would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for all the
gifts,photo's,candles and tributes left for our precious angel on his 1st angel birthday. Today has
been so hard but its so comforting to know that so many people on GTS care so much. Thank you so
much from the bottoms of our hearts. God bless you all. xxx
My son Darrach was born on the 8th march 2008 and
weighed 5lb 1oz. He had congential heart disease called Tetralogy of Fallots which is common in
children with Downs Syndrome. He had two shunts fitted which allowed the blood flow to his lungs. In
May Darrach was admitted to hospital with pneumonia where he spent one month in PICU a very scary
time. Then in October Darrach had his full repair to his heart which went well. The next day Darrach
has a cardiac arrest. He fought very hard for a week to stay with us but he had other complicatons
like kidney failure. Then he got pneumonia again only this time he couldn't fight it his little body
was too tired. On the 4th Nov 2008 the angels came to take him and he fell asleep in my arms.
Darrach was such a special wee man he had such a big personality and a smile that could light up a
room. He touched so many hearts and anyone who met him fell in love with him. His big sister who is
2 1/2 insists Darrach is coming home if only this were true we would give anything to have him back.
If only the angels could have waited a little bit longer. We love you wee man please give us the
strengh we need to live our lives without you. xoxoxox

Morning Darrach son, just want to let you know how much i love and miss you. I wish i could hold you in my arms son, i wish you were sitting here with me right now and giving me those beautiful big smiles of yours. I wonder what you would be eating for your breakfast, what your favourite thing would be. I went christmas shopping with daddy the other day wee man and i looked around the store thinking to myself, Darrach would love that and that and that. There was just so many things that we could have bought you son, i wish i could understand why you were taken from us Darrach, but i know i will never understand. The only thing i can look forward to now son, is knowing that when my time comes i know that you will be waiting on me with your arms opened wide for all my special hugs and kisses i have for you, i will never let you go Darrach, i promise son. You are locked tightly in my heart wee man and there you will forever stay, i love you more than any words can describe son. Your big sis is bouncing round the living room as usual son, she can't help herself she is like a kangaroo. Jessica is here to and they were drawing a picture, your big sis thought it would be good idea to draw all over Jessica's clothes, don't know if Auntie Margaret will be to happy lol. See what your missing wee man, she would have had you tortured but im sure you would have given her a run for her money. Your big bro and sis miss you and love you just as much as mummy and daddy, they will never forget you Darrach. They have lots of lovely memories of you son, and i have memory boxes for them with lots of lovely photo's and dvd's. They are so precious to us Darrach son, i suppose i will have to let you go and play with Joseph and all your little angel friends. Mummy could talk all day to you wee man, i hope you can hear me son. Love you forever Darrach, always will. What makes a Mother
I thought of you and closed my eyes

When your baby's not with you?

I give many women babies
When they leave is not their choice.

But there's no need to stay.
I just don't understand this, God
I want my baby here
He took a breath and cleared His throat
And then I saw a tear.
I wish I could show you
What your child is doing today.
If you could see your child smile
With other children and say:
"We go to earth to learn our lessons
Of love and life and fear.
My Mommy loved me oh so much
I got to come straight here.
I feel so lucky to have a Mom
Who had so much love for me
I learned my lesson very quickly
My Mommy set me free.
I miss my Mommy oh so much
But I visit her each day.
When she goes to sleep
On her pillow's where I lay.
I stroke her hair and kiss her cheek
And whisper in her ear.
"Mommy don't be sad today
I'm your baby and I'm here."
So you see my dear sweet one
Your children are ok
Your babies are here in My home
And this is where they'll stay.
They'll wait for you with Me
Until your lesson is through.
And on the day that you come home
They'll be at the gates for you.
So now you see what makes a Mother
It's the feeling in your heart.
It's the love you had so much of
Right from the very start.
Though some on earth may not realize
You are a Mother until their time is done.
They'll be up here with Me one day
And you know you're the best one!

Morning Darrach, mummy just popping in to say hello and that i hope you enjoyed your very special day son. Its was very hard for mummy and daddy but we just want to know that you are happy. I bet as soon as your little head it your fluffy cloud you went out like a light. Have you shared your balloons with Joseph,Stacey,Carla and all your little angel friends. You will have so much fun with them son, remember when mummy and daddy used to tie them round your little ankles. You would lie for ages with a big smile on your face kicking away at them. Its raining cats and dogs today wee man, can you and your little friends send the sun for mummy. Well Darrach son mummy has to go now but i will be back later, got lots of cleaning to do and your big brothers room looks like a bomb as hit it lol. Hey there wee man, its Ann-Marie here, i hope you have had a lovely day catching all your ballons. Leon and Robyn have been talking about you today, they cannot believe that its been a year since God took you to his garden. We think of you everyday, we have your photograph that your Mummy gave us in our living room and we see your little face looking at us and we remember those days in Clarke Clinic. Your Mummy and Daddy and big brother and sister love you so very much but i know you know that, and i know you look after them all the time. You are so special Darrach and we miss you very much, you and your Mummy and Daddy and Caolan and Katie will always always have a special place in my heart, give them all some hugs tonight Darrach.

Well wee man, i hope you have had the best day ever son because you deserve it.Did you catch all your balloons today Darrach, there were lots son all different colours and shapes and what did you think of the ones with lights in them. I have never seen those kind before, so we waited till it started to get dark and we went back up to your garden and Caolan and Katie released them. Then we went to Lough Shore and lit your sky lantern it was beautiful son, but i just wish so much that we didn't have to do those things and that you were here with us. You are the bravest wee man and you fought so hard to stay with us son, we miss you so much Darrach and i just can't find the words to say how much we love you and miss you. All i know is that life is so hard without you, you should be here keeping us on our toes son.
